1. Free Initial Call
A first meeting of 20 minutes to fully understand your expectations, your needs and the difficulties of your child.
I propose a Free Initial Call to talk about your child's achievements and challenges in learning subjects at school. It also aims to find out if remediation is the right service for your child. It allows me to present my philosophy, my functioning and to see my energy. If your child wishes to be present, it will be a good opportunity to know his opinion and his intentions. |
2. The Learning portrait
It is very important for me not to follow a ready-made program.
The child already has some knowledge and I start from his current knowledge to build new ones. Thanks to the learning portrait, I establish the personalized learning program. The initial objectives are established together during the zoom call. I send you the report of my observations and my larning goals. Even if the program is not a ready-made program, I rely on theoretical models from research in neuro-education and educational sciences. |
3. The sessions with your child
After, we determine a schedule. The time slots are regular. Progress in monitoring is communicated regularly. I recommend sessions of 30 minutes, twice a week.
In reading
Objectives may include: - decoding; - reading fluency (speed, accuracy...); - text comprehension. |
In writing
Objectives may include: - the spelling of words; - the structure of a text; -grammar. |
In maths (In French)
Objectives may include: - numeration; - operations; - problem solving. |
Depending on requests and availability, meetings can be done by zoom.
Prices
The prices are based on my expertise in learning disabilities and learning disabilities in reading, writing and mathematics. Sessions are paid each time and by e-transfer. An invoice is sent. Program cancellations, travel or cancellations of meetings are made up to 24 hours prior.
After 30 hours of orthopedagogical services, a preferential rate is offered. The sessions are paid by e-transfer. 24 hours notification to cancel. You can stop whenever you want within 24 hours notification.

Are you doing the Orton-Gilligham program?
The program OG doesn't exist in French.
During my programs, I rely on theories recognized by the sciences of Education such as Line Laplante’s model, ''The Simple view of reading'', etc.
It is very important for me to know the theoretical models while adapting to the personality, strengths and challenges of the learner. I communicate the objectives of my progress before the start of the program in order to have clarity in my interventions.

Can my child be followed in ''orthopédagogie'' ?
I have a specialization in reading, writing and math difficulties and learning disabilities. I take care of children from the age of 6 to high school. During our first meeting, I will validate the follow-up with you.

How long does the follow-up last?
I would like to tell you that after four weeks, everything is fine! But to be honest, I don't know. It all depends on the number of weekly sessions, the transfers made by the child in class, the child's motivation, his understanding of the strategies, his fatigue which can affect his memory, his disorder, his misunderstandings to deconstruct ....
My solution:
I can suggest you start with 2x30 minutes per week for six weeks. The last five minutes of each session, I explain what we have been working on. This allows you to understand the objectives and adjust as needed. Then we discuss whether you want to renew or not.
